First
Parish Meditation Room Thanks
to the efforts of a few kind souls, our meditation room in the Barn is now complete.
The intention for creating the "Peace Room" was to make space available to all
our FPB members who wish to meditate or meet as a spiritual group. Our wish
is that those who use it may find a place away from the chaos of life to connect
with the Divine.
There are, however, some stipulations as to its use. We are asking
all committee meetings or business type meetings to seek a space other than the
meditation room. For those wishing to reserve the space contact the church
office and it will be put on the church calendar, if available. The Barn
is open to all FPB members anytime during the week except Sundays. The room
is located on the top floor of the Barn.
The room will have a chalice and incense. We request that visitors
use only the incense provided (Nag Champa). All those using the space are
expected to return it to its original condition before exiting the room.
- If a group
needs chairs they can be taken from another room in the Barn. NO chairs
are to be permanently left in the meditation space.
- Meditation
cushions will be available but there is a limited supply.
- All
lights need to be turned off (lights are on a dimmer switch as you enter the room
on the right).
- The
heat needs to be turned down after usage. The thermostat for the heat is
in the adjoining room.
- If
a group wishes to have music, a CD player is available in room 4. Please
return it to its original location.
- If
someone wants to leave an icon or article in the room please leave objects in
the room closet. We are not responsible for others' personal property.
That being said, please be respectful of the space. The contents are
the property of either the CYM program or the FPB ministry. Please remove
shoes before entering the space. There is a basket of slip resistant socks
in the hallway outside the door. May
you all find comfort, solace and hope in this new space. Shalom,
Salaam, Salmu, Shante, Namaste.
