First Parish welcomes all couples of any faith and of any sexual orientation to hold their wedding ceremony in its sanctuary.

Wedding Guidelines

All weddings at First Parish are subject to the following guidelines:

  • The date of your service will be entered on the church calendar when we receive your $250 deposit. (This fee is waved for members of First Parish Brewster.)
  • The sexton must attend the service to open, close, and otherwise attend to the church building.
  • If your wedding is on Sunday, you may not access to any part of the church building before 2:00 p.m.
  • You must provide your own flowers. When decorating the church, please do not use tacks, pins, or tape of any kind. Please remove your decorations directly following the service.
  • To contact us:
  • You are welcome to provide your own minister.
  • Due to the age and uniqueness of our organ, we require that if organ music is required, you must obtain the services of our organist, Allison Beavan. To contact her, write to the First Parish Brewster's administator: Mary Dumont, First Parish Brewster.

    You may, however, hire others to play the organ with Allison's permission.

  • Please do not allow your guests to throw rice or confetti outside the church. (Bird seed is allowed.)
  • Please give your wedding license to the minister at the rehearsal.
  • No smoking is allowed in the church building.

Weddings for Unitarian Universalists

First Parish Brewster welcomes the use of its buildings for weddings and union services by members of other Unitarian-Universalist churches. As a courtesy to couples who are members of other Unitarian Universalist congregations, we have a reduced sanctuary rental fee to $300.

Weddings for Members of First Parish Brewster

First Parish Brewster is supported by the regular financial pledges of its members. First Parish members who desire to have a wedding in the church's sanctuary are not required to pay any additional fee to the ministers or for the rental of the church. They must, however, pay the sexton's fee, and the organist's fee.

An additional donation is of course always welcome.
